§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state the plans for the Scottish Special Housing Association for the next five years, indicating the regions, cities and towns affected; and what has been the programme of the Association for the last five years.
§ Mr. RossIn the last five years the Association has built just over 8,000 houses on its own account—an average of 1,600 houses a year. I have given it authority to start at least 2,400 in the year 1965–66. At present I cannot say where each of these houses will be built. I am determined that the Scottish Special Housing Association will play a full part in our fresh drive for more and better houses in Scotland, and this will govern its subsequent programmes.
