Mr. Conlan

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what was the total number of full-time students in universities in Great Britain at the beginning of the academic year 1964–65, and at the beginnings of the two previous academic years; and how these were divided between technology, science and the other main faculties, respectively.

The following is the information provided by the University Grants Committee about students in universities (not including Colleges of Advanced Technology):

developments there have been since November, 1964, in his negotiations with fireworks manufacturers.

Further discussions with the Fireworks Manufacturers' Safety Association are being held this week. The technical problem of capping will be one of the matters to be considered.
