50. Mr. Francis Noel-Baker

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what contribution Her Majesty's Government will make to the United Nations Expanded Programme for Technical Assistance and the Special Fund of the United Nations for the year 1965.

Subject to Parliamentary approval, the British contributions to these two programmes for 1965 will be:

  • U.N. Expanded Programme for Technical Assistance—$4.75 million.
  • Special Fund—$7 million.

The total of $11.75 million represents an increase of $1.75 million compared with the contributions for the two previous years, divided as to $1 million for the Expanded Programme and $0.75 million for the Special Fund.
