HC Deb 09 February 1965 vol 706 cc67-8W
Q11. Sir Ian Orr-Ewing

asked the Prime Minister what price he allowed for the United States aircraft, designated TFX, in his calculation that by substituting TFXs for TSR2s there would be a saving of £250 million.

The Prime Minister

Confidential information on prices was given by the United States Government and I am not at liberty to make it public. The saving of £250 million which I quoted on the 2nd of February is not a product of the difference in production price alone. It also takes into account research and development costs and support costs and allows for terminal charges on the TSR2.
