asked the Minister of Aviation whether the estimated saving of at least £250 million by switching from the TSR2 to the United States TFX was based upon purchasing the TFX Mark I or Mark II.

Apart from a small introductory batch of Mark I aircraft, the estimated saving referred to in the question was based on the purchase of the Mark II version of the TFX.
