§ The Attorney-GeneralThe Government recognise that the present state of the law and practice relating to the assessment of damages for personal injuries is unsatisfactory, but before any amending legislation can be introduced a full inquiry will be necessary. My noble Friend the Lord Chancellor is considering what form such an inquiry should take.
