HC Deb 09 February 1965 vol 706 c66W
76. Mr. Bryant Godman Irvine

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many British casualties have been sustained in defence of the independence of Malaysia since September, 1963; and what information he has as to the number of Malaysian casualties in the same period.

Mr. Healey

Since September, 1963, when Malaysia came into existence the combined British Forces, including Gurkhas, have sustained 100 casualties in the course of operations in defence of Malaysia. During the same period I understand that Malaysian forces have suffered 67 casualties.
