§ Mr. Buckasked the Minister of Transport why the whole stretch of dual carriageway on the A.12 south-west of Marks Tey has been reduced to single carriageway working for road surface repairs; how long this restriction will last; and why the work is not being done in sections so as to cause less inconvenience and delay to traffic.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe decision to close the whole of one carriageway at a time rather than short sections was taken because of the difficulty of negotiating the narrow gaps in the central reservations. The alternative would probably have caused longer delays. Resurfacing should be completed in about 3 weeks' time.
