asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science by what means he intends to integrate public schools into the State system.

Mr. Crosland

I am not ready to make a statement.

Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish a White Paper indicat- ing he terms of reference of the body he intends to set up to inquire into ways and means of integrating the public schools into the public system of education.

Mr. Crosland

The Government are giving consideration to the best means of implementing its proposals in relation to the public schools. I shall make an announcement at the appropriate time, but this will not necessarily take the form of a White Paper.
