§ Q17. Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Prime Minister what undertakings he has given to defend India against aggression.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Indian Government have not sought any such undertakings from Britain, but we would naturally be concerned if a Commonwealth country were to be the victim of military attack by a foreign Power. If India were to be the object of such aggression we would, of course, immediately wish to consult with her about means of assistance.
