HC Deb 04 February 1965 vol 705 c331W
Q17. Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Prime Minister what undertakings he has given to defend India against aggression.

The Prime Minister

The Indian Government have not sought any such undertakings from Britain, but we would naturally be concerned if a Commonwealth country were to be the victim of military attack by a foreign Power. If India were to be the object of such aggression we would, of course, immediately wish to consult with her about means of assistance.
