§ Mr. Lubbockasked the Minister of Health if he will instruct all teaching hospitals that treatment shall not be made conditional on the patient consenting to be used for teaching purposes if required, and that the patient's consent to be used must be obtained.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonAccording to a survey undertaken last year no teaching hospital imposes such a condition. Guidance was subsequently given to teaching hospitals on the need to explain their beaching activities to patients and to seek the patients' co-operation. It is too early to assess the effect of this guidance. I am however watching the position.
