§ 88. Mr. Sharplesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state the number of recruits to and resignations from the Civil Defence Corps in each of the months August to November in 1964 and in 1965.
§ Mr. George ThomasThese statistics are kept on a quarterly basis. During the quarter ended 30th September, 1964,466W 10,440 recruits joined the Corps in England and Wales, but total strength dropped by 13,264. The corresponding figure for the quarter ended 31st December, 1964 was 10,786 and a drop of 12,112 in strength; and for the quarter ended 30th September, 1965 4,125, and a drop of 7,974 in strength.
