§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will state his plans for founding a university of the air, indicating its scope, personnel and location.
§ Miss Jennie LeeA university of the air would provide opportunities for obtaining degress, and other technical 429W and professional qualifications, through special television and radio programmes, reinforced by correspondence courses, residential courses and tutorial groups. It would have its own administrative centre, but would make use of existing organisations such as local education authorities, universities, and the broadcasting authorities. Costs and channels and other implications are now being considered by the Government.
