HC Deb 21 December 1965 vol 722 cc426-7W
Mr. J. E. B. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many and what range of courses in higher education are available for the training of computer programmers, systems analysts and computer technologists.

Mr. Prentice

Institutions of higher education provide at least 100 courses with a substantial computer element, ranging from minor professional up to degree and postgraduate level. Areas of study overlap. Many courses are directed towards the needs of industry and commerce, while others, particularly in the universities, have a scientific or technological bias.
