HC Deb 20 December 1965 vol 722 c353W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works, what new steps have been taken to make good the shortage of house building materials, particularly plasterboard and copper tubing; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Boyden

The manufacturers of plasterboard have been introducing new capacity which will be fully operative by the Spring of 1966.

Supplies of copper tubing are thought to be adequate to meet current consumption. Some delays in deliveries have been reported but this is probably a result of over ordering.
