§ Mr. Harold Walkerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to encourage the appointment of women as traffic wardens.
§ Mr. George ThomasOn 31st October, 1965, 215 women were employed as traffic wardens. This is an increase of 147 in the last 12 months. No special steps appear to be necessary to encourage police authorities to appoint women as traffic warns; but I am glad to take the opportunity of saying that my right hon. and learned Friend welcomes this development.
