§ 89. Mr. Abseasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that micro-bug transmitters are on sale at radio shops in London and that they are being deployed by private detectives on divorce inquiries; whether he has licensed the use of any such micro-bug devices; and whether he will take steps to amend the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1949, to make the manufacture, sale or ownership of such a device a punishable offence.
§ Mr. BennI am aware that very small radio transmitters can now be obtained, and I have seen reports that some are being used by private detectives. I do not license the use of the type of transmitter which I think my hon. Friend has in mind. I am considering whether I should be justified in seeking any further statutory powers such as my hon. Friend mentions.
