HC Deb 09 December 1965 vol 722 c147W
70. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what facilities were provided in Bechuanaland for the erection of a short-wave transmitter for broadcasts to Rhodesia on behalf of Her Majesty's Government; and what labour was used for the purpose.

Mr. Greenwood

The Bechuanaland police are helping with the security of the site and the transmitters. Prison labour was used to clear the site. British Government staff have been sent to Bechuanaland to establish the station.
