§ Q12. Mr. Taverneasked the Prime Minister, whether Her Majesty's Government will offer compensation to those who are imprisoned, restricted or detained in Rhodesia on account of their loyalty to the legal Government and will offer support for any dependants who are consequentially made destitute.
§ The Prime MinisterIf it proved possible for us to afford assistance in any individual case, we would consider doing so on its merit.
§ Q14. Mr. Bostonasked the Prime Minister what further consideration he has given to the proposal to invite a representative group of senior backbench 157W Members of Parliament to form a mission to Rhodesia.
§ The Prime MinisterWe are keeping this possibility in mind, but I do not believe that the time is yet right for such a mission.
§ Q15. Mr. Lomasasked the Prime Minister if, in the interest of maintaining peace in Africa, in addition to safeguarding the Kariba Dam, he will now authorise British troops to take over full protection of the dam and its installations including the power station on both sides of the frontier between Zambia and Southern Rhodesia.
