Mr. Clifford Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many civilians were appointed during the past year in each of the Welsh police forces; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. George Thomas

On 31st October, 1965, 484 civilians, other than police cadets and traffic wardens, were employed in police forces in Wales, including Monmouthshire. This was a net increase of 91 over the previous year.
