§ 82. Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Minister of Land and Natural Resources whether he will make a statement outlining his proposals for the strengthening and revision of the functions of the National Parks Commission.
§ Mr. WilleyThe Government propose that the National Parks Commission should be strengthened and reconstructed as a Countryside Commission which, besides discharging the present functions of the National Parks Commission, would be responsible for promoting the provision of opportunities for the enjoyment of the countryside generally. I hope to present a White Paper setting out the Government's proposals in relation to countryside activities when consultations with local authorities and others have been completed.
