Mrs. Anne Kerrasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if, in order to gain the admission of the People's Republic of China into the United Nations to replace the representatives of the Government of Taiwan, he will instruct the United Kingdom delegation at the United Nations not only to vote in favour of such an admission but also to vote against any procedural resolution which might effectively block China's admission.
§ Mr. George ThomsonWe shall continue to vote in favour of the Chinese People's Republic occupying the China seat in the United Nations as we did at 11W the General Assembly on 17th November. We shall also continue to vote on any procedural resolutions on their merits as they occur. In any case the United Nations Charter makes no difference between procedural and non-procedural questions in the General Assembly.
