§ Mr. Harold DaviesI understand that Mr. Budworth has recently made a claim for industrial disablement benefit for pneumoconiosis which will be dealt with by the independent statutory authorities in the ordinary way. I will write to my hon. Friend when it has been decided.
§ Mr. Ellis Smithasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what action it is proposed to take in the case of Cyril Wilmot Briggs, of 67 Bradbury Lane, Hednesford, who had worked in a foundry, and was operated on for lung cancer in the North Staffordshire Infirmary, during which operation it was found that the suspected cause of death was pneumoconiosis; and if he is aware that this is further evidence of the complications created by pneumoconiosis and an acceleration of its worsening effects on the human organs.
