§ 60. Mr. Costainasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will exempt from Customs duty gifts to the value of £10 sent by forces personnel to their families when they are serving overseas at Christmas.
§ Mr. MacDermotNo. There are already quite generous duty concessions for Christmas and other gifts sent from abroad and it would not be possible, without unfairness to other sections of the community, to make a special Christmas concession for gifts from forces personnel.
