HC Deb 05 August 1965 vol 717 c417W
Mr. Bradley

asked the Minister of transport why he has agreed to a proposal transferring the interests of British Road Services, Meat Haulage, to a private company; and if he is satisfied that the interests of staff formerly employed in a nationalised undertaking have been fully protected.

Mr. Tom Fraser

I am satisfied that the arrangement proposed by the Transport Holding Company is likely to result in the best use being made of the assets of B.R.S. (Meat Haulage) Ltd. in the very difficult circumstances that at present obtain in the meat haulage trade.

The T.H.C. have assured me that the interests of the staff are protected by the established machinery for dealing with staff matters in consultation with the unions concerned.
