§ 15. Mr. Mikardoasked the Minister of Aviation what items of British-made components and equipment are to be built into the Phantom aircraft which he is buying; and what percentage of the total cost is represented by these items.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsI will with permission place in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of items of British design which, subject in some cases to satisfactory contract prices, have so far been selected for installation in the R.N. and R.A.F. Phantoms. They represent about 34 per cent. of the total estimated cost in the case of the R.N. aircraft and about 36 per cent. in the case of the R.A.F. aircraft. Other British-designed items may be selected later. Items made in Britain for these aircraft but to U.S.-designs will 311W be selected on the results of competitive tendering which is now in progress.
