HC Deb 04 August 1965 vol 717 c348W
Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, in the recent study of the North West, what consideration was given to Westmorland, Cumberland and Carlisle; if he will publish a report on these areas as a separate document; and what instructions he is giving to the Northern Economic Development Council regarding this.

Mr. William Rodgers

The results of the North West Study Group's work on Westmorland, Cumberland and Carlisle are being made available to the Northern Economic Planning Council and Board to help them in the plans which they are preparing for this part of their region. As I told the hon. Member for Westmorland (Mr. Jopling) on 30th July, we do not intend to publish a separate report at this stage.
