asked the Minister of Transport if he will state the number of accidents on the length of the M.4 motorway between the end of the elevated section and London Airport; and how many occurred during the hours of darkness.

Following are the numbers of accidents reported on this section of M.4 between 24th March and 27th July inclusive:

Total Number occurring in darkness
Fatal 2 1
Personal Injury 15 3
Damage 15 4
Total 32 8
