HC Deb 04 August 1965 vol 717 c336W
63. Mrs. Shirley Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what steps he is taking to prevent Royal Air Force aircraft on low-flying training exercises from flying low over built-up areas; and in particular what steps he is taking to ask them to avoid flying over Stevenage.

Mr. Millan

Royal Air Force pilots are instructed to avoid flying low over towns wherever possible. Royal Air Force aircraft which have to fly over Stevenage will in future do so at not less than 2,000 feet, which is the normal minimum over built-up areas.
