HC Deb 04 August 1965 vol 717 c323W
Mr. Abse

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that British Broadcasting Corporation television programmes are often not able to be received in the Wainfelin area of Pontypool, and that when the programmes are received the picture is of poor quality; and what steps are being taken to improve reception in the area.

Mr. Benn

The improvement of the quality of reception of their television services in particular localities is primarily a matter for the B.B.C. It tells me that it is considering what can be done to improve the coverage of its services in those parts of South Wales where reception is poor, but it is too early to say what areas any additional relay stations would serve.
