88. Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will reject the demand of the Chief Minister of Aden that Great Britain should abrogate her Treaty of Friendship and Protection with the Federation of South Arabia; and if he will give an assurance that Her Majesty's Government stands by all its obligations and undertakings to the Federation.

I have received no such demand. I confirm that Her Majesty's Government stand by all their obligations and undertakings to the Federation and to the other Governments in South Arabia.
