35. Lord Balniel

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will now make a statement about the progress made in his review of social security.

36. Mr. Ridsdale

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will make an interim statement on his proposed review of social security, particularly in relation to the cost of the proposals for an incomes guarantee.

37. Mr. Curran

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will now provide an interim report on his review of the social services.

38. Mr. Howe

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will make a statement outlining the progress which he has made since 15th October 1964 in his review of the social services, indicating when, and the extent to which, his review is likely to be translated into action by Her Majesty's Government.

39. Mr. Dean

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will now announce the decisions which he has made with regard to the future pattern of social security.

Mr. Houghton

The review is going on and is making good progress. This is the only interim statement I can usefully make at present.
