Mr. Deedesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he has authorised the continuance of the existing senior posts serving the Nature Conservancy; and whether he is satisfied that the Nature Conservancy can fully discharge its Charter responsibilities on the basis of the posts to be provided.
§ Mr. CroslandI have approved the proposals submitted to me by the Natural Environment Research Council for the senior Headquarters staff serving the Nature Conservancy. The next Director of the Nature Conservancy will be a scientist appointed at the upper level of the Chief Scientific Officer grade, the salary of which is £4,700 per annum. He
