HC Deb 28 April 1965 vol 711 c69W
Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the assistance which the European Economic Community Commission proposes should be given to the Community's shipbuilding industries will exceed that now available to the British industry.

Mr. Mason

I have seen reports that the European Economic Community Commission is proposing that as from 1967 all members should provide production subsidies to their shipbuilding industries to the extent of approximately 10 per cent. of their current ship prices. There is no comparable assistance in this country.
