§ 58. Mr. A. Royleasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the plan produced by the Greater London Council to build a motorway across Barnes Common and through Barnes; and, in view of the fact that it will affect the amenities in the area, if he intends to approve the plan.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe G.L.C. has done no more than indicate its intention of safeguarding from redevelopment possible routes for motorways in London. I have agreed that it is prudent for it to undertake this safeguarding.
No commitment to the building of motorways along such routes is involved.
