asked the Minister of Transport what plans he has for a new motorway to link the South-West with the Channel tunnel.

None, at present. The Ministry is making a study of all the inter-urban trunk routes, so that plans can be prepared for the continuation of the inter-urban road programme in the 1970s. It is too early to say whether these plans will provide for such a link.
