HC Deb 28 April 1965 vol 711 c64W
Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how much of Britain's defence purchases in the current year is in foreign currencies; what are those foreign currencies; and what are the estimates for the next four years.

Mr. Healey

About £60 million in 1965–66. The currencies in which more than £1 million is involved are those of the U.S.A., Canada, France, Australia, Germany and Sweden. At the present time, when the future equipment of our forces is under review, I am unable to make an estimate for the years ahead.
