Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Postmaster-General if he will publish a table showing the numbers on the waiting list for telephones, county by county, in Scotland at the latest convenient date; and what percentage this represents of the total number of subscribers in each area.

Telephone areas do not correspond precisely with county boundaries and therefore the figures quoted are in respect of exchanges mainly serving the counties concerned.

The figures at 31st March, 1965, are:
