HC Deb 26 April 1965 vol 711 c2W
Mr. Owen

asked the Minister of Labour how many school-leavers are still awaiting jobs in the area covered by the Ashington Employment Exchange, Northumberland; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Marsh

On 12th April, 26 young people were registered for first employment at the Ashington Youth Employment Office and are still awaiting jobs. 22 of these left school at the end of the Easter term when there were 133 known leavers altogether. There has been a considerable improvement in the employment situation for young people in this area and these Easter leavers should find employment without difficulty.
