HC Deb 26 April 1965 vol 711 c26W
Sir G. Sinclair

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the high accident rate on the A.3 road on the two and a half mile stretch passing through Ripley, Surrey, he will expedite the improvement of the section of the A.3 road between Burnt Common and the southern end of the proposed Ripley bypass; and when he proposes that work on the Ripley by-pass shall begin.

Mr. Tom Fraser

This improvement scheme is programmed for 1967–68 and work will start as soon as the preparatory work, including the making of the necessary Order and the acquisition of land, has been completed.

The Ripley by-pass has not yet found a place in the road programme. Meanwhile, a minor improvement to the layout of Sendmarsh junction in Ripley will be carried out this year.
