PannellIn order to gain a deeper knowledge of the problems of the construction industry in all parts of the United Kingdom, I have given 10 lunches and one dinner to members of the Building and Civil Engineering Joint Committees which advise me in various parts of the country. Each of these occasions was followed by a full exchange of views on the problems facing the industry. I have also given a working dinner for the National Building Agency and a lunch to mark the 100th meeting of my Advisory Committee of Specialist and Sub-contractors. The total cost of these functions was £800.
