HC Deb 14 April 1965 vol 710 c217W
Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the case of foundry conditions which led to a stoppage of work on two occasions, on account of fog and lack of heating; what consideration has been given to the trade union report forwarded to him by the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, South; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Gunter

The report sent to me by the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, South (Mr. Ellis Smith) refers to inadequate heating arrangements, and broken windows, at a foundry at Hanley. H.M. Inspector of Factories was already aware of these and I have written to the hon. Member to assure him that remedial action is being taken.
