asked the Minister of Transport whether he will now announce the decision on the future of the East Suffolk railway line.

After examining the basic particulars of the Railways Board's proposals for the withdrawal of passenger services I have informed them that I have no objection to publication under the Transport Act, 1962. If the proposals are published I shall make a full examination of all the implications after I receive the Transport Users' Consultative Committee's report on hardship.
