Mr. George Jegerasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether he is aware that the new Economic Planning Council for Yorkshire and Humberside does not include any representative from Goole, the only port in the West Riding; and whether he will appoint an additional member from Goole.
§ Mr. George BrownYes. I regret that this was not possible. Members are not appointed as representatives and I am sure that the Council will have proper regard to the interests of Goole as of other parts of the region.
