§ 61. Mr. Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when the new vaccines, which have lately 78W been developed to combat salmonellosis, will be available to farmers.
§ Mr. John MackieI understand that the cattle vaccine will be available from 1st May. I am sorry I have no information at the present time as to when the pig vaccine will be ready.
§ 62. Mr. Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now make salmonellosis a notifiable disease, in view of the danger it presents to human health, and in view of the shortage of beef calves and pigs which would result from further serious outbreaks.
§ Mr. John MackieNo. This would not be practicable or advantageous at the present time since the disease is sometimes difficult to recognise, and there are no measures which my Department could usefully take on receiving a notification.
