§ Mr. Onslowasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what increase or decrease in staff there has been in the Department under his control since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1965.
§ Mr. CrossmanBetween 16th October, 1964, and 1st April, 1965, the number of staff in my Department decreased by 264. From 1st April, 1965 to 15th October, 1965, it is expected that there will be an increase of 208.
The decrease in numbers since October last reflects the transfer of certain responsibilities to my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Wales and the Minister of Land and Natural Resources.
