Mr. Onslow

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what increase or decrease in staff there has been in the Department under his control since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1965.

Mr. Foley

The total staff of the Department of Economic Affairs is expected to be 422 on 1st April 1965, an increase of that amount since 16th October, 1964. The published estimates provide for an increase in the next financial year to a strength of 452.
