§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Defence what increase or decrease in staff there has been in the departments under his control since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1965.
§ Mr. HealeyBased upon the returns nearest to 16th October last there have been to date decreases in headquarters and outstations staff amounting to approximately 4,200. I estimate that there will be a further decrease in headquarters and outstations staff of about 850 between now and 15th October next.
