HC Deb 23 November 1964 vol 702 c145W
Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will make a statement on his further investigations into the expulsion of Mr. Dunmore from Tanzania.

Mr. Bottomley

Mr. G. Dunmore, the Area Lands Officer at Arusha, was summoned to Dar es Salaam on 12th November and arrested on arrival at the airport. He was allowed to return to Arusha early the next day, having been given 48 hours to pack and leave the country. Mr. Dunmore sailed from Tanga for Britain with his family on 15th November.

We have of course been in touch with the Tanzanian Government about the matter; but they are not required to give reasons for a deportation, and none have been given in this case.
