§ Sir Richard Glynasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will give an assurance that the Allen Committee on hardship due to rates and the Departmental Committee on local government finance will continue to function and that their reports will be published as soon as conveniently possible.
§ Mr. CrossmanThe Allen Committee has now presented its Report. It will be published as soon as possible, but it is a complex document and I understand that printing will take some time.
The Government is continuing the examination of the whole system of local government finance, including the rating system, initiated by our predecessors. They will publish their conclusions in a suitable form when it is complete.
